The Nobel Prize shows that ideas can change the world. The courage, creativity and persistence of the Nobel Laureates inspires us and gives us hope for the future. Based on the Nobel Prize’s unique combination of fields – natural sciences, literature and peace – we would like to invite you to exhibitions, school programmes, lectures and dialogues about the great issues of our time. Nobel Center c/o will be showing up at a number of venues around Stockholm. But we will also remain at the Nobel Museum in the Old Town until we move into our new home on the Blasieholmen peninsula.

Swedish inventor and industrialist Alfred Nobel (1833-1896) had a clear vision about the prize he created. In his will, he wrote that he wanted to reward those who had “conferred the greatest benefit to mankind”. The Nobel Prize and the stories of the Nobel Laureates are the basis for a broad range of public activities that show how we can learn from history, in order to understand our present-day world and influence our future.

Over the past 20 years, our travelling exhibitions have toured all over the world. We have worked together with teachers and met thousands of curious school children. With our exhibitions, international meetings, digital channels and all our activities in Stockholm and Oslo, we want to create encounters between people – people who dare to challenge the status quo, who want to ask new questions and think new thoughts, who want to contribute to a better world.

We will bring all of this with us into our new home on the Blasieholmen peninsula in central Stockholm, when the Nobel Center opens its doors a couple of years from now.

In the meantime, we hope that you want to experience the events that will be happening at different venues around Stockholm and at the Nobel Museum in the Old Town.
