Lene Tranberg was born in 1956 and established Lundgaard & Tranberg Arkitekter A/S with Boje Lundgaard in 1984, which they owned, managed and developed together until 2004. Lene has a solid professional foundation; she is involved in all the company’s projects as well as in the professional development and general management of the office. In addition, Lene is a lecturer, holds a number of different honorary offices and is a frequent and popular speaker both in Denmark and abroad.

Lene’s unswerving professional commitment has been a source of inspiration for her colleagues and has resulted in a number of critically acclaimed and prize-winning projects, primarily in Denmark. Her high professional standards and committed, inspirational and caring management style have also made Lundgaard & Tranberg a pleasant and harmonious place of work with excellent staff retention levels.

Henrik Schmidt was born in 1957; he graduated as an architect in 1984 and has been a key employee at Lundgaard & Tranberg since 1986, from 2005 as a partner. Henrik has participated in both a numerous competitions and in the further development and evolution of many of the company’s projects. Henrik has been one of the driving forces at the Royal Theatre’s new playhouse, which he has spearheaded by the competition to completion. Henrik is a very creative project leader and he participates in the company’s management with a creative, committed and inspiring leadership. In addition, Henrik has been very involved in housing design and sustainability, and he has co-authored several research reports. Henrik has recently served on the National Arts Foundation and he is a popular lecturer on the studio’s work.

Lundgaard & Tranberg has won the prestigious RIBA European Award (awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects) several times, most recently for the following projects:

2007 The Tietgen Students’ Residence in Ørestad Nord, Copenhagen
