The Nobel Museum acknowledges the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate the 14th Dalai Lama in the exhibition The Missing Peace – Artists Consider the Dalai Lama. In the exhibition artists from different countries have let themselves be inspired by the Dalai Lama and his work. The exhibit contains paintings as well as sculptures, photographs and video installations. Among the participating artists can be found Laurie Anderson, Marina Abramović and Bill Viola.
The 14th Dalai Lama, the spritual leader of Tibet, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize inte 1989. Ever since the miltary occupation of Tibet in 1959, has has worked for the recognition of Tibet as an autonomous state. Through tolerance and mutual respect, the Dalai Lama feels that a solution in the Tibet conflict can be found. The exhibition is produced by 100 Committee for Tibet and the Dalai Lama Foundation. The works of art that are shown at the Nobel Museum is a selection of the total of 88 pieces that are included in The Missing Peace.
